Locations for Welcome, Conference, Banquet and Lab Tour
Welcome & Registration
The workshop starts on Sunday (29th September) at 16:30 with the registration and the welcome reception. The location is the “Hessisches Staatsarchiv” (located in the House of History) in the city centre. The address is Karolinenplatz 3, 64289 Darmstadt. It is a few steps from the Welcome-Hotel.
Lecture hall
The main location of the workshop (Monday-Wednesday) is Magdalenenstraße 12, 64289 Darmstadt, the “Maschinenhaus”, a renewed historical building of TU Darmstadt. In the TU Darmstadt internal naming scheme it is building S1|05 (you will see those signs on red tables on the buildings).
Lunch & Photo place
Lunch will be served in the central canteen of the university, the Otto-Berndt-Halle (Stadtmitte Mensa & Bistro). It is located in the building S1|11 (see the plan here). It can be reached by a three-minute walk passing the library building (S1|20 ULB). You will be guided from the lecture hall to the canteen by our team – just follow their orange flags. On the way to the canteen, we will take the group photo.

Conference dinner
The conference dinner on Tuesday (1st of October) will be held in the Orangerie, a historical hall located in the middle of the Orangerie garden (Orangeriegarten). It can be reached by the trams 3 and 7 from the city centre (It takes 7 minutes from station "Schloss" in direction "Lichtenbergschule". The station "Orangerie" is the 5th).
In case you prefer to have a walk: The Orangerie is located by approx. 30 minutes’ walk from the conference (city centre).
Lab tour
The lab tour on Wednesday (2nd of October) is organised in the facilities at the campus Lichtwiese. The address is Peter-Grünberg-Straße 2, 64287 Darmstadt. In the TU Darmstadt internal notation, it is building L2|01, see here. The campus can be reached by the tram 2 or bus L from the city centre. Station “Darmstadt TU Lichtwiese/Campus” (end station). After the tour the same tram can be taken to the main railway station. The Airliner departs from Congress Center, Luisenplatz and Hauptbahnhof (main station).
